Happy Saturday!

This is one of LCdaily's favorite photos of Lauren & Brody. We remember watching the earlier seasons of The Hills when Brody & Lauren were an item; we always thought they would end up together forever. Although today that is not the case, it was all we could have hoped for. On that note: we really want to see The Hills alternate ending that Lauren and Brody filmed! Please, MTV?

Wishing you a lovely weekend, Lauren Conrad Daily xo.

Lauren Answers 5 Fan Questions!

Lauren answered five fan question via Allure Magazine

Question #1: “Lauren, your hair always looks gorgeous! What products do you use to achieve those beachy, California-girl waves?” -Courtney
  • Answer #1: Thanks, Courtney! When I get out of the shower, I comb Healthy Sexy Hair Leave-In Conditioner through my hair. Then I use Moroccanoil on the ends for shine and blow-dry it. Once it’s dry, I use a one-and-a-half-inch barrel curling iron: I roll the hair around it and hold it vertically, and the whole time I tap the clamp, basically opening and closing it, so the shape isn’t as harsh on my hair. If I’m going to be out for a few hours, I might use hair spray, but otherwise, that’s it.
Question #2: “I love your smoky eye, but no one ever explains just how you do it. I know that on The Hills you did your own makeup. How do you do your version of the smoky eye?” -Renee
  • Answer #2: Hey, Renee! It’s actually not smoky—it’s more cat-eye. I use... Mark by Avon black liquid eyeliner, which has a very small brush. If I do anything on the lower lash line, it’s brown eye shadow. Then I do two coats of black mascara—I don’t do it first, since lashes can get in the way of putting on the liquid liner. And I don’t curl my lashes first, since they’re naturally curled.
Question #3: “Who is your fashion icon?” -Miranda Lynn
  • Answer #3: This is a tricky question and one I get asked often. I don't really have one specific person who I idolize for their style. I think inspiration is everyone and on lots of different people, whether they are in a magazine or just walking down the street. I think it's important to always be a aware and take note of fashion around you.
Question #4: “Everyone loves affordable, quality makeup. What are your top three favorite drugstore makeup products?” Kristin
  • Answer #4: I stock up on individual false lashes at CVS. There’s not a huge difference between those and the really pricey ones t...hat I can tell, so I stockpile them. I also use Dove hair spray in light hold—it smells pretty and clean, like soap. And I use Aquaphor on my lips at night, especially when I travel; it can even work as eye makeup remover.
Question #5: “You’re famous for the side braid and winged eyeliner, but what’s your new favorite makeup or hair trend?” -Ellen
  • Answer #5: I think my new favorite new hair trend is the top knot. I love it not only because its looks so effortless, but because it is. It takes only 2 minutes to do--making it my favorite on-the-go hairstyle.

Lauren Launches How-To Beauty Website, Hints At Starting Own Beauty Line

With her always expertly applied cateye, perfect crimson pout, and smooth vintage-y waves, we never doubted that Lauren Conrad had at least a teensy bit of beauty girl floating around inside of that fashion plate of a body. Who are we kidding? L.C. probably lives and breathes liquid liner and big barrel curling irons. And, now there's proof. Along with her makeup artist Amy Nadine and her hairstylist Kristen Ess, The Hills-alum just launched an online hair and makeup website called The Beauty Department. The site will brim with beauty advice straight from the mouth of babes (Conrad, Nadine, and Ess), video tutorials, and printable photo step-by-step how-tos (like the one shown above). We know what you're wondering--there's already a million bajillion beauty websites in cyberspace...what is Lauren thinking to add another, which may or may not get buried in the middle of the pile? Of COURSE, the biz-savy celeb has a master plan, guyyyyyysss. As reported over at InStyle, on top of her myriad of fashion designing duties L.C. says that she'd ultimately like to launch her own line of cosmetics and hair products. We're envisioning all of these floral embossed pressed eyeshadows. Lots of pink in the form of blush, curling irons, nail polish, blow dryers, round brushes, and ponytail holders. Shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for highlighted hair. A battery powered, vibrating liquid liner that forces the user to keep her hand steady while trying to make a straight line with permanent ink. And a collection of red lipsticks for everyday of the year. But, you can't just wake up one day and say, "I'm going to start a line of beauty products." Well, you can, but it probably won't be very lucrative. It sounds like Ms. Lauren is using The Beauty Department as an apprenticeship, per se, for total world beauty domination. Elizabeth Arden, who?

In the meantime, find Lauren Conrad and Allure on Facebook here!
Have an iPad? Well, Allure has an iPad app. Download the May issue featuring cover star Conrad, Allure's Face Nicki Minaj, and our celebrity nudes Ashley Tisdale, Keri Hilson, Bridget Moynahan, and Kaley Cuoco. That's a whole lot of famous in one download.

People Magazine's Most Beautiful 2011: 25 Beauties (and Hotties) at 25!

Though the former Hills star turned designer is admired for her effortless SoCal style, Conrad admits she works hard to look – and feel – good. "About a year ago, I looked down and thought, 'I have cellulite. Where did that come from?'" she told Glamour. "I work out and eat healthy, so mostly [I'm]] about being in shape and having energy."

Lauren Conrad: Her Allure Photo Shoot
Lauren Conrad is so over The Hills. Today, her reality is that of a successful businesswoman, designing clothes for Kohl's and her new line, Paper Crown. And more than ever, she's trying hard to keep her romantic relationship off-camera. Check out these behind-the-scenes shots of the California girl's Malibu cover shoot. For our interview with Conrad, pick up the May issue of Allure, on newsstands April 19—and for even more exclusives, follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
Inspired by 1960s Pirelli-calendar images, Conrad's shoot look was "wild but sophisticated," said makeup artist Stephane Marais.
The reality-TV-star-turned-designer's own style is decidedly more girl-next-door. She arrived at the location—the beachfront Malibu, California, home of Harry Gesner, a self-taught, eco-friendly architect—wearing flip-flops, distressed AG jeans, a T-shirt, and an owl pendant necklace from her LC Lauren Conrad Kohl's line. "I'm not a sexy person. I'm OK with it," she said. "I've never been the sexy girl. Whenever I've had a boyfriend, he's always been like, 'Oh, you're cute.'"
When fans of MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills meet Conrad, they often shower her with backhanded compliments, telling her she is "different" than they thought she would be (read: smarter) and looks "better" and "younger" in person. "I'm still deciding if that's a nice thing to say," Conrad said. "Is that like, 'You don't look great on TV?'"
During the last season of The Hills, she might have been phoning it in a little: "Towards the end, I was so tired. I was showing up to the club in flip-flops, and [the cameramen] would be like, 'Great, now we can't film your feet, because you couldn't bother putting on a pair of shoes,'" she said.
"I wanted it to look like second-day hair," said hairstylist Serge Normant (shown here). He faked the sexy, unstyled effect with a curling iron to create a "soft, uncontrolled kind of wave." With a round brush, he added height to Conrad's crown and put a bit of pomade on the ends of her hair.
Her light brown hair with honey highlights was the result of a recent cut and color by Kristin Ess at Chris McMillan's salon in Beverly Hills. "I'm never happy keeping my hair one color," said Conrad.
"You have two good angles and a hundred bad ones," said Conrad. "If I'm shopping and I see paparazzi my [hand]bag goes directly to my thighs." But the star added that she's never felt a need to be superthin. Nor has she wanted plastic surgery, like her former costar and roommate Heidi Montag, who in January 2010 revealed a staggering ten cosmetic procedures that had all been done in the same day, including a chin reduction, butt augmentation, and triple-D breast implants. "I saw People magazine just like everybody else," Conrad said. "I don't think this is a happy story at all. There's just no right answer there."
"I was 17 when I signed on [to Laguna Beach], and that's a vulnerable age anyway," Conrad said. "I was still figuring out who I was. To be on television and told a million things that are wrong with you was hard, but I very quickly decided that I just had to be me. I watched people change everything about themselves, and they still weren't happy."
Marais brushed on a chestnut eye shadow and applied liquid eyeliner to her top lids and pencil eyeliner to her lower lids. He then filled and darkened her brows with eye shadow and an eyeliner pencil. He combined a pink blush with a bronzer to contour Conrad's cheeks and make them glow. For a "cute" subdued mouth, Marais applied a coral shade of lipstick.
At lunch Conrad ate turkey breast with the crew and spoke about her family affectionately but didn't utter a word about her boyfriend of two years, actor Kyle Howard. With her twenty-fifth birthday then just days away, rumors were swirling that the pair planned to celebrate with an engagement, which their publicists denied. (He bought her an iPad case, not a ring.) At the end of the shoot, Howard, who lives in Malibu, arrived to take Conrad out for an early dinner—where they successfully avoided the paparazzi.
